Okra is unusual. You either like it or hate it. It has a slimy texture but when paired with tomato sauce it is not that bad. Perhaps tastes like a green bean with a more rustic flavor. The cucumbers have had a second surge as I now have about 15 in the refrigerator. I will try pickling this variety but not sure they are the best to do so.
I have never tried eating okra, what does it taste like?
ReplyDeleteThose cucumbers look great. Mine all have very strange shapes. I think it's because plants all all dry and almost dead.

ReplyDeletewhat a great photo!
ReplyDeleteYou've done well to grow okra in New Jersey! I tried a few times in a hot Summer in the greenhouse but it just needs more heat than I can give it.
ReplyDeletehahaha...This made me laugh. I always assumed that you had to live in the deep south in order to grow okra. Maybe I'll give it a whirl next year.
