Last and Harvest

A few months back, which seems like yesterday, I posted about firsts. The first harvest is always so exciting. I have come to one of my last harvests. I pulled out most of the garden this past weekend and will, for the first time, plant garlic. This is always a little sad but a new crop and the frozen vegetables will keep us happy for part of the winter. I still have a few turnips, tomatoes and carrots left in the garden.
Here is what I pulled this week.

  1. Your tomatoes still look pretty great for this time of the year!

  2. Well at least your last harvest was a really nice one. I'm going to have to pull my last tomatoes soon. I think I won't do the sungold until after the first frost though. I'll let it try to produce as long as possible.

  3. Lovely crops! We have had very bad frost several nights so the season is ending here in Sweden as well...

  5. For a LAST harvest, it is very nice. I always get sad when I pull the plants knowing that some of the garden will not be used again until spring. The garden itself looks sad.
